Charles Gorintin

Charles Gorintin is a French entrepreneur and data scientist best known as the Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer of Alan, a leading European digital health insurance company. Based in Paris, Gorintin has built a career at the intersection of advanced analytics, product innovation, and scalable technology systems, contributing to some of the world’s most influential tech platforms before launching his own venture. Gorintin co-founded Alan in 2016 with the ambition of transforming health insurance through technology, transparency, and user-centric design. As CTO, he has played a central role in building the company’s technical infrastructure and engineering culture, enabling Alan to scale rapidly while maintaining a strong focus on product quality and customer experience. Under his technical leadership, Alan has become one of Europe’s most prominent healthtech startups, attracting top engineering talent and continuously innovating in insurance delivery. In parallel, Gorintin has also contributed to the broader AI ecosystem as a co-founding advisor to Mistral AI, reflecting his continued engagement with cutting-edge developments in artificial intelligence. Before founding Alan, Gorintin built deep expertise in data science across major Silicon Valley companies. At Twitter, he led growth data science efforts within the Growth Engineering organization, working on user acquisition and engagement strategies. Prior to that, he worked at Instagram, where he led analytics for monetization, advertising, and brand partnerships, helping shape the platform’s early revenue models. At Facebook, he focused on large-scale data challenges such as spam detection and platform integrity, gaining experience in high-impact, data-driven decision-making at global scale. Earlier in his career, Gorintin worked in finance, including roles at J.P. Morgan and HSBC, where he developed expertise in fixed income, derivatives, and financial engineering. This foundation provided him with strong quantitative and analytical skills, later applied to tech and product development. Academically, Gorintin holds a Master of Financial Engineering from UC Berkeley, a Master’s degree in Machine Learning and Computer Vision from École normale supérieure, and an engineering degree from École des Ponts ParisTech.
