Eric Vibert
Prof. Eric Vibert, MD, PhD, is one of France’s foremost specialists in liver surgery and transplantation, combining decades of clinical expertise with a strong focus on surgical innovation and digital health. Based at Paul Brousse Hospital within AP-HP and affiliated with Université Paris-Saclay, Vibert has built an internationally recognized career in hepatobiliary surgery, publishing more than 260 scientific papers and achieving an H-index of 61. Beyond his clinical work, Vibert has become a key figure in the modernization of surgical environments through AI, data, and interdisciplinary collaboration. He founded the BOPA consortium, a large public-private initiative bringing together surgeons, engineers, mathematicians, anthropologists, and healthcare professionals to improve safety and performance in the operating room. Supported by organizations including Orange, Medtronic, Fujifilm, and Johnson & Johnson, BOPA has become a major innovation platform within France’s healthcare ecosystem. Vibert is also Co-Founder and Medical Director of Uncovr, a company developing ambient surgical AI systems that transform surgical video into structured clinical documentation and coding workflows. In parallel, he serves as a Health Ambassador for the France 2030 program and continues to advocate for transparency, innovation, and human-centered transformation in modern surgery.
