Johann Diep

Johann Diep is an emerging European technologist operating at the intersection of artificial intelligence, robotics, computer vision, and healthcare. Currently serving as Co-Founder and CTO of Uncovr, Diep is building what the company describes as the world’s first ambient AI model capable of transforming robotic and minimally invasive surgical videos into structured, billable operative reports. His work reflects a broader ambition to redefine surgical workflows through automation and machine intelligence. Before launching Uncovr, Diep developed a highly interdisciplinary career spanning aerospace, defense, robotics, and generative AI. He worked as a Navigation Engineer at the European Space Agency (ESA), where he researched lunar navigation systems, visual-inertial SLAM, and GNSS sensor fusion for autonomous rover navigation. He later joined Oxford Dynamics, leading technical development across projects involving generative video modeling, legged robotics, space situational awareness, and defense technologies. Diep has also become well known within Europe’s AI hacker and open-source ecosystem. As one of Mistral AI’s earliest ambassadors, he won first place at multiple Mistral hackathons in London, Paris, and online fine-tuning competitions in 2024. His technical expertise spans multi-agent AI systems, multimodal architectures, robotics software, distributed systems, and scalable AI infrastructure. Educated at ETH Zurich with a specialization in robot navigation, machine learning, and computer vision, Diep combines deep technical rigor with strong entrepreneurial execution across frontier industries.
